A sunny autumn-day in Heiligenblut. The larches all around are coloured in a bright orange. It won't take long and they will loose their needles. The most important building in the village is the church "St. Vinzenz". The church is dedicated to Vinzenz of Saragossa. It is from late Gothic times and contains an altar from 1520. Today Heiligenblut is a center for mountaineeers. From here you can drive to the Franz-Josephs-Hut above the glacier at the foot of the Grossglockner. This is the highest mountain in Austria, 3798m.
