Some million years ago several eruptions of volcanoes created a plateau and the following erosion with the help of time incredible tuff rocks. Today mass tourism is endangering the tuff rocks. Small paths became asphalted roads, hotels were built in protected areas and travel agencies organize trips with 4WD vehicles and mountain bikes.
